I am a doctoral student enrolled in the Transformative Learning in the Global Community program at Webster University. My research interests center around improving instruction in the areas of mathematics and science to reach all learners. My research would look into fostering more culturally responsive professional development opportunities for prospective teachers and current educators. I am also interested in researching the impact of Covid-19 on teacher preparation programs.
I attended Truman State University for my undergraduate education, from which I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Literature. I also received a Master of Arts in Education degree from Truman State University. As a first-generation college graduate, obtaining a doctoral degree would be a dream come true.
Career-wise, I am currently an elementary teacher with the Francis Howell School District. Previously, I was an elementary teacher with the Ferguson-Florissant School District for 11 years. Additionally, I serve as an adjunct professor with the teacher education department at Webster University. I teach Elementary Methods of STEM to both undergraduate and graduate students.
Some of the professional organizations that I belong to are listed below. I have been a presenter and co-presenter for 15 regional and national conferences for NCTM and LDA. I apply what I learn from these experiences to provide professional development opportunities for staff members within my building and school district.

In my spare time, I enjoy traveling. Meeting people of different backgrounds and getting to know their cultures, languages, and beliefs is very enjoyable for me! My goal is to visit each of the Caribbean islands before the age of 50. I also enjoy exercising, being in nature, and spending time with my friends and family.
